  • MALAWI, THE WARM HEART OF AFRICA

Malawi offers an unmatched combination of lake, scenery, wildlife, adventure and culture, in one of the most beautiful and compact countries on the continent. Described as the "Warm Heart of Africa", Malawi has scalable mountains, vast plateaus with endless views, forests, well preserved national parks and the most beautiful lake in Africa - a true inland sea. In addition to the legendary friendliness of the people, the country's geographical diversity captivates visitors.

Crossing the landscape in the depression formed by the Great Rift Valley lies the third largest lake in Africa: Lake Malawi, a deep gap of clear water, with an enormous amount of colorful cichlid fish. Whether for diving, snorkeling, kayaking or just relaxing on deserted beaches and islands, a visit to the lake is a must. Over the clouds in the south of Malawi are the dramatic peaks of Mount Mulanje and the mysterious Zomba Plateau, both with hiking trails to the top, through mist-shrouded forests and wildlife.

The mild and dry winter months (June to August) are more comfortable for those who prefer to avoid the heat. The summer (December to March) brings fleeting rain showers and a lush green: it is also a good time, with higher temperatures. April and May combine the best of both seasons - cooler, still green and great visibility for photography. From September, temperatures start to rise again and regions close to the lake are already comfortably warm.
