AFRICA ATTRACTIONS

Zanzibar

The Zanzibar archipelago consists of two main islands, Unguja and Pemba. The island of Unguja is best known by its Arabic name, curiously also known as Zanzibar. Pemba (or Al Jazeera Al Khadra) has beautiful deserted beaches, great diving and less tourists, but neighboring Zanzibar is internationally famous and recognized as one of the most exotic and authentic beach destinations in the world.

The fame is justified: Stone Town is a unique cultural attraction, highlighting the historic importance of Zanzibar as a spice warehouse, and the beaches around the island have peculiar characteristics that differentiate it from the traditional island destinations of the Indian Ocean. It has charm and excellent hotel infrastructure. Nungwi, in the far north, maintains the tradition of fishing village and construction of traditional wooden boats. Paje, in the southeast, is perfect for kitesurfing. Each region of the island has distinct characteristics, which greatly influence the experience of each visitor.
